Pumpkin Patch

These are a couple of the pictures taken of Carly at the end of our pumpkin patch day. We found out that they chose the other little girl for the November cover of Austin Family, but they called back and asked to use Carly for the December cover. She'll be doing the shoot with a puppy. It's supposed to look like she got a puppy for Christmas. I think these pictures are pretty cute, and I'm excited for the next photo shoot. Carly just loves the camera.

He's Movin' Now!

Jack seems to be growing faster and faster every day. He's gotten his two front teeth this week, and they make him look so much older. I'm losing my baby. Today he figured out how to make his truck move forward while on it. He was so proud of himself, and I thought he looked pretty cute, too. He's also been standing by himself more and more. I know I should be wanting him to walk soon, but really, I'd like him to stay a baby forever.

Happy Anniversary!

I think it's worth mentioning that Jarod and I celebrated our 6th anniversary last week. I think our best anniversary so far has been our second anniversary, when we got to take our Carly girl home from the hospital!

Truckin'

I thought Jack looked cute riding his new truck. He looks so grown up sitting on it. You can also see his new teeth in this picture.

"I love being Fancy Nancy"

Today Carly was playing with the make-up her little friend Madison gave her for her birthday. I had to try really hard not to laugh when she told me she loved being Fancy Nancy. I love how she puts on lipstick.

Pumpkin Festival

On Monday we went to the pumpkin festival in Elgin, Tx. It's about 45 minutes from our house, and it was worth the drive. We had a great time. When we got there, we spent time looking at the different animals, and petting the horses.

There were chickens, goats, horses, a pig, and a llama. The kids love farm animals. When we told Carly we were going to the pumpkin farm, she started naming the different animals she was excited to see. I was glad there actually were animals for them to look at. I thought it was fun to see the baby horse nursing.

Our next stop was the hay bale maze.

The kids had fun running through it a few times.

When we were ready to leave the maze, Josh was saying "all gone!" I love how he holds his hands when he says it.

Jack had his first experience in a swing...he wasn't a huge fan. They had a swing set, a slide, and a bunch of old rusty trucks to play with...Josh was in heaven. We had a hard time convincing him to leave the trucks behind.

There was also a semi truck constructed out of hay, that the kids could 'drive'. They loved it, and I loved their expressions.

I think Josh was checking his blind spot before changing lanes. I just love Carly's smile here. Too cute.

The kids also liked the rubber duck races. Carly would pump the water and Josh would help put the ducks back on the track for the next 'race'. They weren't actually racing against anyone, but they thought it was great fun.

There were also pumpkins for the kids to decorate and take home.

The location is actually a Christmas tree farm, so there were plenty of Christmas trees to see on our hay ride. We started wondering if Carly was allergic to the hay or the trees, because the whole time she complained that her eyes hurt.

It was such a fun day, and we were happy to share it with my mom. At the end of the day, we were leaving, and Mom was spotted by one of her old student's moms. She was trying to take pictures of a very uncooperative little girl for the cover of Austin Living, a local magazine. She spotted Carly, and asked if we wouldn't mind letting her take Carly's picture. We went inside the gift shop and found a long sleeved red shirt for Carly to wear, since they said they'd never put black on the cover, and she got all kinds of pictures of Carly in several different poses. Carly did such a great job. Of course, once the other girl saw that she had competition, she was a lot more cooperative. So, there's a chance Carly will be on the cover of Austin Living.

Happy Birthday Carly!

We haven't officially celebrated Carly's birthday, because we're having a big birthday bash on Sunday for the kids. We did, however, wish Carly a happy birthday, and she got birthday doughnuts, a birthday lunch with Daddy at work, and a little birthday gift. She was pretty happy with all the birthday wishes she got from Aunts and Uncles, and Grandmas. She was feeling very special. Thanks to everyone that called to wish my baby a happy birthday! It doesn't seem possible that fours years have passed since I held my first new born baby. Carly's been telling everyone she talks to, to come to her house for the birthday party. She says "everyone is coming to my house for my party. They're all my friends." She's just too love able for words. She was such a sweet baby. We fell in love with her at first sight.She is still daddy's baby girl. First birthday and first encounter with cake...she didn't know what to do with it.

For her second birthday, the cake got a little more elaborate.
