Over the July 4th holiday we had a Valdivieso family reunion at the Grand Canyon. Don and Mieka came from Texas, Andy and Rosanne came from Oregon, and Ben and Kelly brought their family from Colorado. The California Vals were represented by Steve and Karon, us, and the Wilstead family. On the way to the Grand Canyon, we stopped in Las Vegas overnight so we could see the Shark Aquarium there. The cousins had a great time!
I absolutely loved the Grand Canyon. It was such a incredible sight and experience. I hope to go again and spend more time there. We spent most of our time at the KOA near Williams, AZ.
We had a great time at the 4th of July parade in Williams, AZ. Baby Jarod really got into it, and loved waving his flag. I get a little emotional during patriotic parades. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the free country we live in, and for the men and women that fight to keep us safe and secure our freedoms.
The kids had to attend classes and answer questions as they worked toward getting their ranger badge.
The kids all worked hard to become junior rangers. They took a very serious oath that day. :)
Jarod had a hard drive home from the Canyon. The only thing that kept him from crying was licorice.
July 13th we celebrated Jarod's first birthday. Poor little guy was sick.
