I've been having a great time sewing away the past few weeks. My new favorite stores are Joann, and Hancock fabrics. I know, I'm such a geek. I've had a vision of Carly's redecorated room...the one I'm going to do when I switch the kids around. Right now she is sharing a room with Josh, and Jack has his own room. As soon as Jack is big enough to sleep in a bed, I'm going to move them around...Josh in the top bunch, Jack on the bottom, and Carly in her own room again. It will be a pink princess paradise. Well, at least my vision for it is. Included in the vision is the pink quilt I've got in the works...well, so far I've bought the fabric for the top and a pattern. So, I decided I wanted to learn a new talent...sewing/quilting. I've done some sewing before, and I've made a quilt top, and a patchwork bumper pad, but I wanted to build up my skills so that I felt confident enough to tackle any project on my own...I'm still working on it. My first project was a princess dress...with a lot of help from my expert seamstress of a mother. Next I made a nightgown, and a tutu completely on my own. I have several other projects in the works, including a couple capes for dress up, a Tinkerbell dress, jammies for Josh, Christmas dresses for Carly, and I just saw the cutest fabric that I think I'll make matching Christmas jammies for everyone out of. I'm on a roll. Everything has turned out really well so far. I'm glad I decided to spoil myself with a new sewing machine, so that I can develop a new skill. I'm having sew much fun! See, I told you...GEEK!
Carly is admiring her painted fingernails, while sporting her oh so darling ballerina print nightgown.
She wasn't really in the mood for anymore pictures...that's why you aren't seeing her face here.
This will be Carly's Halloween costume. Now, if only I had some ideas for the boys' costumes.
